1976 Mercedes 240D Sedan - 4 speed

1976 Mercedes 240D Diesel Sedan
280,000 well maintained miles. And many more to go.
Rare 4-speed manual transmission... fun to drive compared to the 240d auto.
Solid 4 cylinder diesel injected engine. Tight timing chain.
Starts, Runs, Shifts, Stops, and looks great.
Excellent Winter driver.
When below 15º F she likes starting help from her professionally installed block heater. Above that starting is no problem.
Very Complete maintenance records. Plenty of recent work.
Recent valve adjustment. Newer front shocks and ball joint. New shifter bushings. Newer diesel injectors. New modern pencil style glow plugs. New block heater. New hoses.
Very complete and very original. Becker radio. Single speaker.
Easy and fun to work on, the best car for a do-it-yourselfer.
Perfect for restoration, biodiesel conversion, or just dependable daily driving.
Body, interior and mechanical in great shape.
There is limited rust.
The engine does leak a little oil (no effect on driving as long as the proper
oil level is maintained).
The A/C compressor is seized.
Heater blower motor yet the car produces plenty of heat when driving.
Leak in vacuum central lock system. Just use locks manually.
Mechanic approved as a very solid running classic diesel.
With Mercedes Shop Engine Manual and lots of do-it-yourself
maintenance literature.
And with current oil prices bio-diesel looks prettier every day.
This is the coolest car I've ever owned and I want her to go to an equally cool new home.
Serious Inquiries Welcome. Firm price. Clear title.
