I have a 75, I think its a 450, but not for sure. The badge is gone off the trunk. Its a V8 though. I can get you the manifold for that. Any idea how I can figure out what engine it is?

What are the first six numbers on the chassis number? Engine number is on the rear of the block behind the driver side head. tell us the number and we can see what engine it is.350 and 450 engines should have the same manifolds

I have a 1975 450 also. It is important to keep in mind that in 1975, the cats. were under the hood, attached to the manifolds. MB changed this the following year as the heat was too great under the hood.

Engilne & chassis numbers

my chassis no. is 116 033
my engine no. is 117 983
manifold casting no. is 117 142 08 01
No cat under the hood

I am quite sure of that engine no., but I just went out to look on the block for the engine number and dismayed that I could not read it,, due to grease, bad location, bifocals dont focus at that distance, couldn't get to it to clean off the grease, blah blah blah.

Seems like that number must be readable on some plate somewhere else on the vehicle, but I had it written down in the manual so I must have gotten to it at some time in the past.

Putting a Pic of the manifold on the link provided

Thanks for the response guys, need all the help I gan get right now. You will understand if you look at the pic.
