After much deliberation i have decided to sell my 16v. I am not in a hurry, as I don't need the money so much as the space to house a new car (190SL). It is in great shape and is rarely driven (in fact i havent actually driven it in close to a year, it is started and allowed to run on a regular basis though, and sits on a trickle charger).
A little history on the car. I bought the car from Burbank from the second owner; The first owner bought the car and returned it a week later for something bigger.. the second owner bought the car for his wife, who rarely drove it due to the sport suspension being "too rough". I bought the car in the summer of 2001 with roughly 50k on it, and In the 6 years since I have only put another 20k on. I have made lots of modifications, however everything done to the car is reversible (aside from the cutting of the rear deck cardboard to make way for the alpine component speakers, and covering the wood with REAL carbon fiber).
There is very little that needs to be done to it, the things that do need to be done are fairly minor, and most I may even do prior to selling.
I will try to list everything, but Im sure i will miss some stuff.
Lowered with H&R springs and bilstiens on the front, retained sls in the rear... no leaks whatsoever in the system.
K&N filter, Hollowed out pre-cat, removed R/16 (still passes GA emmissions)
painted grille plastic flat black
Euro headlights, smoked corners (mirrored bulbs, blink orange but dont look like it), smoked tails (I got an extra set for smoking, I still have all the originals untouched, though the tails may need another coat, they were smoked 4 years ago.)
17X7.5 C-class replica wheels with Dunlop sp sport 8080E tires on the rear and Yokohama avs1000 on the front, lots of tread left. I also have all original wheels (including spare), and a full second set of the c-class replicas that may be included in sale, depending on price.
Covered all factory wood with carbon fiber.
added LED's in the bottom of the rear-view (not sure if anyone else has done this, but it adds a "mood lighting" on the dash, very subtle)
Stereo, electrical, and other Misc.
IVAD900 ( in stock location)
SPR-175A (custom fiberglassed door pods in place of map pockets)
SPR-176A (stock location, cut for fit and tweeters)
SWR-1241Dx4 (custom fiberglass box, Very thick=no flex but heavy)
MRV-F307 (mounted in front of subs)
MRV-1507x2 (mounted in front of subs)
All custom installed fiberglass enclosures by me(I used to own a custom shop)
All Monster Cable Competition Interconnects used on the stereo, Along with monster cable capacitors, circuit breakers, and fused distribution blocks.
Breakers are under the hood, 1/0 power cable runs through conduit under the vehicle, and into the trunk, where it is fused again before attaching to a second battery (small ATV battery) and 3 1 farad monster cable capacitors, then fused again before entering the amps... see the attached system diagram.
I did have a 2nd alternator, however i removed it due to the fact that i couldn't get the belt tight enough, (It worked great but would squeak a little under heavy acceleration) and was too lazy to buy or fab a 2nd tensioner.
Dynamat everywhere, front firewall, entire floor, all 4 doors, behind and under the rear seat, rear shelf top and bottom, entire trunk floor, back side of gas tank, sides of trunk, and bottom of trunk lid... there is also some above the headliner ( i didn't want to pull the whole thing down, so i want able to get too much up there)
Things that need to be done:
I need to repair a few places on the vynil covering the sub-box and door pods.... it is coming un-stuck in the compound curves.
Lap timer is bleeding
Doesn't "need" timing chain update, but it is getting close to the recommended mileage
This thing runs like a top, the only real downside for most of you guys is that it is an automatic. though i have thought about returning it to stock and taking it to barrett jackson as a "rare" automatic. lol
These are old pics but it looks the same, as the last ones. I will try to get some more if people are interested.
The first pic i ever saw of it:
after putting wheels, euro's and clear corners (i have since replaced clears with smoked and smoked out the headlights too. front tires are also a lower profile now)
rear pass side wheel after install

Quick and nasty stereo Diagram
I took 3rd in my division at nopi nationals.. got beat out by a bada$$ amg SL, and a new (at the time) c-class with nothing but a 9/11 paint job... i was kinds pissed about that... I guess ill let the trophy go with the car
I'm not in a hurry to sell (but the sooner i get rid of it, the sooner i get my SL), and I'm not hurting for money, so please make a reasonable offer if you are truly interested... if you don't know what to offer, then we can talk it over and see if we can reach an agreement.. I'm sure most of you know I'm a very easy-going guy, and I'm looking for a fair and reasonable amount for the car..
So go ahead, make an offer, or just tell me what you think it is worth... I may throw it up on e-bay depending on interest... i would hate to do that though.
