1989 560SEL Parts Car in PA - $900
1989 560SEL, maroon metallic with creme beige interior.
Engine was flooded with fuel, might be bad fuel distributor or something else. It did run, then ran stumbling badly from flooding out (gas on plugs repeatedly), now won't start. A lot of gas was in the oil crankcase like it went shooting into the cylinders. Assume it needs a motor, but it might be repairable.
122K miles. Exterior in good shape. Some previous paintwork, some scratches, etc but with detailing should clean up to be a 7 out of 10 or so. Probably a 5 of 10 now.
Interior in nice shape. Driver's seat has small tear, but other than that all seats are very nice. Carpets good, wood decent, lots of usable parts, or repair to make a whole nice running car. Wheels in fair cosmetic condition, but turn well with OK tires.
I've "borrowed" some parts off of it, but nothing major. One hood latch, some bulbs, etc.
Nice bonus is a clean title with no brands, since it's only the motor problem that parked it. Car is in New Britain, PA, zip 18901. I paid $3500 before I found out about engine problems.....had the engine run well, it would have been a very nice $4K car after cleaning it up a little.
First $900 takes it...you can probably sell the seats alone for that amount, so no haggling please! Must be paid for in cash and moved/trailered away hopefully by Friday August 10th.
Sorry no pics.....it's parked in tight spot in back of mechanic's shop so very hard to get to. But if it's critical and you're serious I can get some in a day or two.
