FS. 1979 240D 4spd 2nd Owner lo miles
I've decided to part with my 1979 Nickle Green/Bamboo 240D. I am the 2nd owner of this car, having purchased it from the original owner, one of my neighbors. This car has approximately 140,000 miles, as the odometer stopped about 25k miles ago (1.5 years of driving). I relied on this car daily for my first 5 years of ownership, and it never let me down. I have had a company car the last 5 years, and had the 240D in storage, but no longer have storage available. I was readying the car for my daughter to drive, but she has other plans. The car has a brand new M-B exhaust, all new rotors and Padgid pads, and new battery. Alloy wheels with very good Perelli P400 tires, and a new set of Dunlop snows, mounted on steel rims w/ factory wheel covers. Engine has been tuned (injectors cleaned, valves adjusted, oil changed). Exterior is good for a driver, with some high quality rust repairs, and a new M-B (not aftermarket) left front fender, installed and painted some years ago. Interior is very good; no cracks at all in the original dash, carpet, headliner, seat covers and wood all excellent, with the exception of the driver's seat cover. It is not too bad, as I rebuilt the seat with a new spring pad and horsehair pad, and reinstalled the seat cover as it is. There is extra OEM wood in the interior; a wood ashtray, and wood shift surround plate. I will try to get some digital photos soon, and will certainly answer all questions. Lastly, the engine runs faultlessly, the rebushed shifter runs through the 4 gears with precision, and the car stops on a dime, all with no squeaks or rattles. Air conditioning does not work, but the Becker GrandPrix I installed from my wife's '87 works great, and looks like it belongs there. I hate to see it go, but can't watch it sit unused, either!
