Honorable Auto Shipper Needed...

I need to ship a 86 2.3-16V from Chicago to Southern California and would like to get references from those of you who have shipped a car and had a good experience, thanks for the help.

Hi. I shipped a few cars last year from Chicago to New Mexico when I relocated with a company called Fleet Transport out of Dayton, Ohio.
Dennis is who owns the company and his number is 937-231-6455

I could not of been happier. Great guys, great service, and delivered to me very fast.

If you do call him, please tell Dennis that mark in Rio Rancho, NM says hello.

Thanks, called him and spoke for a minute, nice guy but he noted the price I was quoted was pretty strong and that he doesn't really go up to Chicago so I'll stick to what I found but thanks again for the contact.

I used National Auto Transport @866.268.0017 in July of 2006 to transport a car from Oregon to Kentucky. They act as a broker with many different transport companies and were able to get a service that would pick up and deliver to non standard cities at a very reasonable rate [about half the rate of folks like Reliable or FedEx].

They handled all the booking and tracking and I had up to the minute info as to where my car was and knew exactly when to meet the carrier at a parking lot [since they could not bring the truck into my neighborhood due to trees].

Being smart is knowing the difference, in a sticky situation between a well delivered anecdote and a well delivered antidote - bear.

He does auto transport, frame restoration and other services for vintage cars and has lots of experience working on older Mercedes Benz.

He's been my mechanic for years and I know he does about a dozen cross country auto transports per year. Rockford is just 90 minutes from Chicago.

I used Express Auto Transport to bring my wrecked S500 back to NC from Texas. They were very fast, wrecked the car the week of Thanksgiving 06 and they had the car on a truck the next day.

1-800-405-0914. Based out of Ohio. Good luck!

Keep em running...

Looking for a 300E - Have you seen one worth "investing" in??

Very, very good thread, guys. I am often interested in a MB across the country and transport is usually the deal killer. Always good to get a recommendation.

I have used Dependable Auto Shippers(DAS). Good price, but a bit slow. It took two weeks to get a vehicle from FL to MI. But for the price they can't be beat.
