It's a 280C
It is infact a 280C. It has a Solex 4A1, 4-barrel carburettor, and a conventional ignition system. A 280ce is a coupe with fuel injection. It also has manual transmission. As mentioned, it is a european model. Besides the mechanical differences, (carb, tranny) it also has a narrower 3-piece bumper that loops around the sides of the fender. Another thing worth mentioning is that it is equipped with factory AC, not the push button climate control. It has a blue interior and the upholstery is leather and cloth.
The car is in Deerfield Beach, Florida. I bought the car August, 2004 from a guy in Detroit. I had the car shipped here in FL and I've been using it as a daily driver ever since. The engine is good condition. I obtained the factory record. Only it's in german. I've attached a scan of it for anyone out there who can halp me decifer it. It has it's regular scheduled maintenance. The clutch needs to be replaced and the AC needs to be looked over. It didn't work when I got it, but I had it looked at and it still has all the compnents needed to run. Just a little massaging is needed. There are some cracks in the dashboard. I had the steering wheel wrapped in leather. It does not look cheesy. In fact, it looks like it came from the factory that way. There is a small tear in the leather part of the driver's seat due to a pen in the back pocket mishap. Overall, the body is in good shape. There are some rust spots but nothing major. The paint, as you can see is also good. I'll post some pics of the engine and interior.
