w123 300 TD-T New in box Hirschmann replacement antenna

Selling my new in box Hirschmann replacement antenna which was purchased for my 300 TD-T. It was purchased brand new from Performance Products for $163.95, I will sell it for $100. It was never installed and includes all the necessary parts to install.

You can get this antenna from Autohausaz for $148 shipped. I've ordered two of them. I returned the first one because I positively hated the black plastic look (instead of the chrome bezel on the outside). A year or two later I gave up and ordered it again and installed it. The installation instructions are not good. The antenna functions well, although the antenna adjustment feature does not work. By this I mean the switch on the instrument panel that lets you fine tune the height of the antenna. Instead what happens is the antenna will extend all the way unless you have the switch in the locked down position, in which case the antenna will remain retracted. This is useful if you happen to have an MP3 input of some sort setup (which I do).

So my summary is this is a nice after-market antenna that functions well and will make you happy if you are OK with not having the chrome bezel on the outside and if the black plastic is OK with you.

As best as I can tell it is not practical to get a working Hirschman 6000U (I think that is the original model) because repair parts (except for mast) are no longer available. This IS the alternative.

So there.
