FS: Used Benz Smartkey

Up for sale is a Used Smartkey. It can be used for any Mercedes from 01 - 06, except for the older MLs. The key is in great condition. The only thing about it is that you must reprogram it. I'm new to this, so I don't really know how to post a pic. So if you want a pic, pm me with your email address so I can send it to you. $50 obo.

I just checked with the dealer. According to them, the smartkeys are vehicle VIN dependent and are not dealer programmed into the car. They are ordered from MB with the key and the remote already programed . This is what I've been told by the dealer.

You can always reprogram it. I work at a MB dealership and they do it all the time.

I don't know what dealership you work at but according to MBUSA it can only be programmed by them and they will NOT reprogram an existing key that was for another vehicle. I tried because I wanted to get my valet key from my '98 reprogrammed for my '04 because they don't make valet smart keys anymore.

I'm confused because I also would like to know what dealership you work at.I have a sl998 1999cl,both 500 and a cl600 2002.When I bought my cl600 it had the proximity card and a master and valet. My valet did not work and they said it was for a different car and that they couldn't reprogram it.SO WHATS THE REAL ANSWER! YES or NO

There is another topic at the top of the list about scammers. This is one of them. Do you really think MBUSA is going to make a key that can easily be reprogrammed to any Benz?
