This is Daisy. (More info below pictures.)
A 1973 Mercedes-Benz 280 foor door.
Doesn't currenty run. I have been told she needs a re-build.
I drove it up until Christmas, and on a trip to Prescott, an oil leak which I thought was small, turned out to be a bit bigger than I thought.
She is in pretty good shape other than that. Clean.
A few cosmetic blemishes (small-ish dent in passenger side rear panel, and a few other small things) but all in all, still a beautiful car.
She has been in Arizona all her life, not owned by me, but she's only really been in Scottsdale, Chandler, Tempe, and Prescott. No body rust. The only bit of rust is a 12(or so) diameter spot of surface rust on the floor of the trunk. It's not deep, so I believe it wouldn't be hard to take car of.
She only had about 80 thousand miles, before she died...
The first woman who owned her bought her brand new from the dealer in 1973, and owned her until 2003. A box in the trunk contains all her maintenance and service records from this woman, and the second owner, whom I purchased her from. I actually only owned her for about three months.
I'm asking $1,500 OBO.
I could most likley part her out and make a better profit, but I would much rather sell her to someone who will fix her up to drive. She loved to go, and go.
She has power everything, and everything including heat, and AC work. She only has the original one speaker radio in the dash. I didn't want to change anything about her, so I never thought to install a better stereo.
I wish I could keep her, and fix her myself, but I've talked to a few shops in the Phoenix Area, and they quoted a rebuild to be somewhere around $3,500, and that kind of money is hard to come by for me. I am moving to Washington, and it isn't cheap to tow a car that far.
If you're interested, give me a call.
I live in Tempe, Arizona, so if you're in the area, we can set up a time to see her.
