Have a "one family" 1976 MB 300D w/71K (provable) for sale. Thistle Green, fresh compressor, radiator, seat interior (professional looking), and battery. The tranny fluid looks fresh & sweet too. The Air C. works good and does blow out the center vents. There is indeed some goofyness w/the vacuum, but I've learned to "work with it" on a daily basis. I've put 1200 miles on it since I bought it a few weeks ago from the slightly eccentric, Houston author & poet, Harry Burrus.
All the pw, pr
, ps, door locks, will and do work. The body is very solid and straight, and looks to be quite stock right down to the working fog lights. All gauges are working, though the gas gauge and oil gauge are a bit suspect in their accuracy. Panel lights, courtesy lights, turn signals & brakelights, etc. It's a working daily-driver. There is a touch of drift in the steering, but nothing at all scary, and it will clock down H-Town freeways @ 65 - 70 w/out a wimper. I'm asking $6500, or best reasonable offer.
I owned a Volks Diesel years ago, which gave me to courage to take on this vintage 300D. I have not been sorry that I bought it, and must admit that my fondness for it groww by the day. However, I am at a stage where being a bit more practical than romantic is the rule for my day. She seems to be a solid, trustworthy ship, whcih I will drive from Houston TX to Ionia MI late next month if I cannot get my price. Ok, now I will attempt to attach pics. If this won't work, e-mail me @ firstname.lastname@example.org
and I'll either get them sent to you or work something else out... Thanks for the interest, P3'
