I recently went aftermarket for my head unit and now have the following items for sale:

--------
Factory Mercedes Fiber Optic 6 Disk CD Changer w/ bracket - MC3198
The changer is in excellent shape, and I have had no problems with it skipping or reading burned MP3 disks. I believe that the previous owner of my SLK was a company that used it to drive clients around, so there is a chance the actual CD changer was rarely even used for all that time (25k miles).

Ebay and the forums usually list them for between 150-250 USD. With the bracket included I would like to get 100.00USD shipped. Also, make sure that your fiber optics are set up correctly and that you can hook up the unit prior to purchase.

CD Changer Installation

---------
SOLD Mercedes-Benz Audio 10 CD Head Unit (w/radio code card and printed manual) SOLD
This radio is the Alpine CD player unit made in Japan that is supposedly better sound quality than the Audio 10 Becker w/ an up to date Q13). This head unit should work on any SLK from 98-2003 and simply plugs directly into your existing OEM harness. The unit will work with any original fiber optic 6 disc CD changer, just like the factory radio.

I did notice a nice improvement in the speaker's sound quality when going from the stock head unit to this.
No dead pixels and the color matches OEM head unit colors.
The unit is in fantastic shape, and the only thing worth mentioning is that the PTY button is a bit loose due to a previous stereo removal. It does not effect the unit cosmetically when installed and the button functions normally (although I don't believe the RDS/PTY is widely used in the US. currently, so you won't be punching the button much anyway)

These units sell for around 200-300 on Ebay, and I would like to get 175 shipped anywhere in the USA.

--------
SOLD Bipes Automotive Portable IPOD/MP3 Adapter SOLD
This is the unit sold by Dick B and Jerry at m y r o a d s t e r .n e t that allows you to use your IPOD with any stock Mercedes radio.
Bipes Automotive iPod / Portable MP3 Adapter
Unit sells for 100+ and I would like to get 75 shipped for this.

PM me with any questions or for a sale, and I will be sure to remove this post after the items sell. Thanks all!

R170 AMG Spring Kit

I still have a brand new AMG spring kit laying in my garage. These are not SLK32 springs, they are the AMG spring kit that Mercedes sold as an accessory in Europe for R170 SLK200/200K/230K/320. These springs lower your car up to 1 inch depending on the pads that you install with it (all R170 pad sizes were included in the kit). I rode in an SLK with these springs in Germany back in 2000 and it was firmer than stock but not harsh.

The kit has Mercedes-Benz part number B66030030 and consists of the following parts

Part Number Description
A1703210104 - Front Spring (x2)

A1703240104 - Rear Spring (x2)

A2103210584 - Front Spring Pad (x2)
A2103210484 - Front Spring Pad (x2)
A2103210384 - Front Spring Pad (x2)
A2103210284 - Front Spring Pad (x2)
A2103210184 - Front Spring Pad (x2)

A2103250484 - Rear Spring Pad (x2)
A2103250384 - Rear Spring Pad (x2)
A2103250284 - Rear Spring Pad (x2)
A2103250184 - Rear Spring Pad (x2)

I bought this kit for my '99 SLK230 but never installed it before I traded the car for the SLK320. I've had this kit since October 2000, the box is starting to fall apart, but the springs and pads are new. They cost EUR295 when when I bought them in Germany in 2000. I don't think they are in production any longer. I'll take $250 plus actual cost of shipping (your choice of USPS or UPS). The weight is about 35 lbs.

I was really sceptical about adding any aftermarket products to my Benz but when I saw this I could not pass it up. I ordered it with yellow illumination and a Benz star laser etching. The quality is tottaly so much more than I expected it is supper thick! I have tried a couple of the others off the net that attatch with velcro straps but they look so taky and reflect light from the cars in front of me. I am tottaly satisfied with this product! I also had the guy design me some illuminated glowing stainless door sill plate that light up yellow to match the windblocker.

I am amazed at his services and products! I found this guy on ebay he should still be on there i think he list these things under "windscreen slk" or "illuminated SLK"

Has any one seen these??
Just looked at it; there are two kinds from two different people. One uses a strap to hold it on to the roll bars, the other fits the contour of the rollbars (don't know how it's attached). Which one did you order?

99 SLK 230,
I put an Alpine DVD iPod system in my 99 and took out the CD changer almost immediately when I purchased the car several months ago. Just sitting in my garage because I've been too lazy to list it on Ebay. If you are still looking make me a stupid offer and I might take it.
Someone has to tell me how to hook it back up to check it for you because I have no clue if it works. I did buy the car from a dealer (Rusnak) and it was checked first so I assume it's fine but would want to check.

Thanks for the offer, Barry. I wenat and checked my connections, in anticipation of installing a changer. It appears a couple of the fiber optic cables were cut, which would mean big bucks to repair. I opted to purchase a CD head unit from a member instead.
