FS: R129 Right Hand Side Seat Belt - Brand New
I bought a brand new right hand side seatbelt from eBay. Well, I wanted the left one but was send the right hand side, and I don't want this one, I need the left one, as my belt (the driver's) doesn't reel in completely anymore and I wanted to replace it. But yes, the seller send me the wrong one... :-(
Before I send it back, I wanted to ask if anyone was interested in buying it? I don't expect to use this as the right side gets used so much less that I expect the seat belt to last on the right side. But for RHD cars (UK for example) this could be different.
I went to my local MB stealer and asked for the prices and for some reason this right side one (which I now have) is more expensive than the left one. The right one is Euro 352, and the left one is Euro 223,40 (Including VAT). The MB guy was unable to give me the exact reason why the prices are so different, could be just the demand he said. But they are different parts and you can't swap them.
Anyway, the part number is 129 860 22 85 / 7C15 R (its printed on your buckle)
and the color is grey (the "7C15" is the color code). Like I said, its brand new (manufactured 2001), never been used, and in the original package, with original MB instructions.
Changing the belt yourself should be something like a 1-2 hours job if you do it yourself, I have the MB English instructions that came with the belt and I have the videos showing the procedure as well. I actually took my seat apart yesterday to have a look at my existing belt, and it took me about 45 minutes. The most difficult part was un-plugging the seat heater cable, that alone must have taken me something like 20 minutes...
BTW, funny thing is, when I was still living in the UK I went to this MB stealer and asked for a quote to change the belt and I was quoted GBP 500-600, "the seat needs to come off the car and its a 3 hours job" they said... Well, its not true. Max 2 hours if you do it yourself, and closer to 1 if you've done it before. And the seat does NOT have to come out of the car...
I'll contact the seller tomorrow if no one is interested, I want Euro200 / GBP140 +postage.
