Steve, that's a rare gem if you can find one.

But on that note I surprisingly saw one sitting in a load of cars over at the Blake Street location of lovecraftbiofuels.com. I don't know if they're willing to sell it as it but it had the correct badging on it even though that can easily be glued on. Give em a call and see. They are hard to reach and even when i went in person I was getting the impression that I was wasting their time....but that's perhaps for another thread.

Where are you in SoCal?

I know, that's what I was afraid of... Do you think I might be able to find one under $3000? The one you saw at lovecraftbiofuels was waiting to get converted to veggie oil? I'm in Upland between the 57 and 15.

Was the "???" part of post #4 that got cut off?

I doubt you could find one for $3000. The engines are super rare although there are a handful of turbo 602's out there in the 2.5 W124's but i don't know if they would bolt up easily. Perhaps a high mileage car would be had for $3k but you have the rust factor if you go out of state and body damage quotient as well. You have to gauge what you want in terms of speed, cost, cosmetics, and exclusivity.

I presume the cars at LCB were to be convereted but some cars were trashed and had dents galore and some even had windows down in a very shady neighborhood so I can only guess that they will convert it.

If you have $3k call Brian...but you have to be persistent and say you saw a 2.5 T there and you wanted to know more about it and would make an offer on it since they are a for profit business more so than the hippie freedom of information thing I was initially led to believe.
