RE: Wanted: Non functional W140 Electronic Throttle Actuator
Thanks for the leads guys. What I'm looking for is someone to volunteer their dead or dying ETA. Doesn't matter what engine size, but I would prefer something from a V12 as I am familiar with these units. I want to develop a way to bench test the ETA. I am thinking of offering a rewire service for these units, but I first need to find a way to test the internal components, especially the potentiometers. If the internals aren't working properly, it doesn't make sense to rewire the unit. If someone is willing to send me their ETA for testing, I would rewire it at no charge for them (as long as the internal components are functioning correctly). Mil-Spec wire would be used, along with braided stainless steel sleeving. All replacement items I use have higher temperature ratings than the original MB items. If anyone is interested, let me know. Think about it...if your ETA isn't working, what do you have to lose?
