FS: 83 300D - 247K - Florida Car -

I've decided to part with my pride and joy... bought it in 2001 from a retired navy doctor that is a friend of the family. He bought it in Atlanta brand new in 1983 (still have sales receipt), it's been to Hawaii, and then back to Florida.

She's a 1983 300D - just turned 247,000 miles today. Original motor and transmission. VIN WDBAB33A7DB033705

Car is in very good shape... only a few flaws
- Rear passenger window needs new regulator
- ACC blows ambient temp, heat/defrost works (removed the condensor since the system did not work when I bought the car - previous owner had spent $$$ keeping the a/c system working, and being a college student, I am living without)
- Dash is cracked, have it covered with a carpet cover now
- One spot of the dash "chipped" away right in the bottom right corner of the instrument cluster
- Top of back seat has two seperations in it... where the ribbed parts meet the smooth middle section
- Cruise control does not work

The good:
- I am the second owner, know the first owner personally
- Have all records since new
- No rust
- Have kept a daily milage/fuel record since Jan. 1, 2005 (kept in an excel file can email it to anyone that wants it), as well as all maint. records since we've owned it
- Bosch European H4 upgrades (just the 7" bulb, not the whole euro headlight unit)
- Barely used floormats (all look new besides driver's which has little wear)
- New headlight doors
- Year old paint job (Kotakis Auto Body - May 2004)
- Panasonic Detachable Face CD-Player w/ remote
- Infinity Kappa speakers front and rear
- Wood trim is in very good shape
- Rims have been repainted and are in very good shape (no dents or curb rash)
- Sunroof/power antenna/door locks/windows/rear defrost/lights/signals all work
- All chrome is in very good shape - ongoing battle with aluminum trim to get back to new look

Some of the repairs done:
- New motor/transmission mounts
- Rear sway bar lingkage
- Rear subframe mounts
- Rear brake hoses
- Voltage regulator
- Driveshaft support/bearing/seal
- New CV boots and rear axles
- Water pump
- Radiator/thermostat
- All new shift lever bushings
- Properly functioning vacuum system
- New tires (less than 1000 miles) - balance and aligned
- Many new front suspension parts just installed - car is very tight now

This car has been very well maintained it's whole life. Since I've had it, oil and oil filter has been changed every 3 months with Chevron Delo400 15W-40 and purolator oil filter - valves adjusted every 15 to 20 thousand miles - tires rotated every 5,000 miles. I keep the car very clean inside and out. She runs very strong. Transmission occasionally does the 2-3 flare, but shifts very well other than that.

She gets 22 to 24 mpg in city driving, between 27 and 30 mpg on the highway. I averaged 26.8 mpg on a 3000 mile road trip to Pennsylvania and back, and she drove like a dream the whole way. Wouldn't hesitate to drive cross country after that trip. I use 12 oz. of Power Service Diesel Kleen (in the silver bottle) every 3 or 4 tanks, and she doesn't smoke hardly at all (can only see smoke at night in people's headlights).

I'm not really sure how much to ask... I've never sold a car before. I see cars like mine selling anywhere between $2500, and on up to $5000, but I'm not expecting $5000 because of the A/C and other small issues.

I'm basically open to offers at this time. She is a little dirty now from all the rain we have been having lately, but I'll get her cleaned up tomorrow and get some pics up here by tomorrow night. Sorry this is so lenghthy, but thanks for reading through all of this if you made it to this point!
