Wanted: 1999 S500 Grand Edition

I am interested in a 1999 Mercdes Benz Grand Edition. I do not want a regular 1999 S500, only the Grand Edition with the AMG wheels, special paint, and wood steering wheel. I would like to find one with low miles (under 70,000) and for less than $28,000. If any one is selling, or knows a good place to find one, PLEASE let me know!! I have been searching ebay, autotrader, and www.cars.com and have found a few but with high miles. I am also searching several dealer auctions around the United States because my friend is a high end used dealer. If anyone is selling, PLEASE let me know!! Thank You in Advance!

Is the Grand Edition the same as the European Long Wheel Base or Limosine version. by that I don't mean a stretched limo.

Dante,

I spent quite some time looking for one a few months ago...not many are being offered (unless you could convince someone like me to part with mine, doubtful...HA!).

My strategy was to search cars.com every few days (search "All" radius from zipcode) and then in selective markets that could afford the cars (NY, DC, Philly, LA, Miami, etc). Cars.com is affiliated with many newspapers so anyone listing in classifieds will appear.

I would suggest you can find one for around 22-25K.

There is one in UT, at 102K mi for $18K. If it is in good shape, even with the mileage, that would be a deal...leaving you a few thousand to put into cleanup and minor repairs.

Hope this helps,
Gerard

Hey, thanks everyone, but I did actually find one back in November 2005. I bought it from a Mercedes Dealer in Texas who was selling it on ebay. It was a one owner car and was in PERFECT shape. I paid $24,000 (with tax and tltle) and it had 50,000 miles on it!! WHAT A GREAT DEAL! I love my Grand Edition and will probably die with it in my garage! So far, I've put around 13,000 miles on it, and drove it from Pittsburgh to Florida and back and it has been perfect for me. The paint has no swirl marks, everything works, and all I've done to it is change the tires, brakes, and oil... I highly recomend W140 lovers to buy one! They are the best V8 W140 around!

Dante,

That was odd...it appeared earlier as a current posting, hence my reply. Ah technology. Agree with you on the 140, mine has been much the same. Just got done with a 5K mi. trip out west. Love those wide open roads...
