For Sale: '72 250C, amazingly low miles, very nice
One of only a very few U.S. 250C coupes built in 1972, 67K original miles! Silver with black interior. M130, 2.8-liter SOHC engine, topped by the original dual Zenith 2-barrel carburetors. Runs great. Four-speed automatic on the column, no issues. Equipped with air-conditioning, but compressor is frozen. Becker Europa AM-FM radio is original. Tons of paperwork come with the car.
The doors close with the characteristic ‘thunk’, that bank vault sound no automaker has ever been able to copy. The interior is black MB-Tex, as close to perfect as a 36-year old interior can be. Clean headliner, amazing chrome fittings, Zebrano wood accents (with a beautiful patina almost like a crackle finish), and the traditional square weave carpeting provide a cozy atmosphere. Custom-fitted coco-mats, in complimenting black and silver weave, are new.
The trunk is rust-free, floor is still protected by the beautifully preserved original gray rubber trunk mat. The jacking equipment, and all the 'hidden corners' are clean as a whistle. The 250C originally rode on stock 6 x 14" steel wheels, complete with painted and polished factory aluminum wheel covers. I still have them. I upgraded to period-correct, aluminum 14x6.5 Bundt-style wheels, which were optional on European 250Cs and higher-end models in 1972. They remove lots of unsprung weight from each wheel. They also just really look cool.
Tires all around are new BF Goodrich 205-70R-14s, slightly wider than the originals.
If you appreciate a pampered survivor, and love the W114, this rare Mercedes hardtop might be the car for you. I'm looking for $6,700 or best offer.

Thanks for the nice comments, PMs etc...car is still for sale. One interested party, after seeing the many pics, called her a 'ten-footer', which while a little insulting, is probably fairly accurate. This car is not a trailer queen, not a perfect, museum piece...just a very nice, well-preserved, well-loved W114 coupe.
