1974 240D value

As it is the first year of the 240 D, what is the value of a 1974 240D that is in perfect running and exterior/good interior condition?

Are you looking at the one listed on eBay with only 38K miles on it? If so get pictures of the bottom... it looks like it's got a lot of rust creeping in .... I also think he is asking a little too much for it....

RE: 1974 240D value

Thanks for your info. Actually, I am thinking of selling mine, as I have moved to the East Coast. It runs perfectly as I've maintained it very well, and I've owned it for ten years. It is a 4-speed which I've heard is of greater value? And with the bio-diesel/ conversion craze right now, has greatened its value as well? Mine has no rust as it's lived in the West all it's life. I love the old tank, but it can't sit in storage- it must be driven regularly. Hence, I'm looking for a buyer.

Thanks for your reply. Does the standard 4-speed raise the value at all?

Only to hard core MBers does the standard make it increase the value. For the avrage person, and their automatic ways, it decreases the value...

Good Luck
