Watch out for scammers wanting to "buy" your parts.
"Brian" wants you to accept a check fron his "shipper" and refund the difference!
Don't be duped by this shmuck!
I went thru this when I sold my 300D and now I get it on my dads 300CE. They have hit us a few times on autotrader. Telling us they will pay us DOUBLE THE COST of the car for sale..and to send them the diff when we cash the check. These people piss me off more than you can imagine because we are just trying to do a business deal without theses as-----'s screwin with our time!!!UGH!!!!
It's the "Bank of London" scam. Of course, it has branched out into many different slants. The originals wrote you a check from "the Bank of London" for about 5 to $7,000 above your asking price. A co-worker of mine almost fell for it. After asking around, he figured out that he was fixing to get shafted!!
I was selling a 1954 GMC Cab-over truck....worth $2500. When they starting sending me E's saying they were buying for a client in Sweden and please send them the extra $$ to Costa Rica. I replyed by saying please send me a brown paper sack with $5000 USD mostly $100 USD bills, some $20 USD bills. I will keep what I want and well I will keep all de money that you send. For some reason after about a week they stopped E'ing me. Go figure!! [;)]
