Just want to say thanks to all you guys on this site. Not only have you helped me fix my air conditioner you just saved my friend from getting scammed.
She was sent an email that looks alot like the ones listed above, basically the seller wants to send more money so the difference can be sent to a shipping company.
Although she wont lose any money, she did send the guy her home address! i've told her to report the guy to yahoo as he is using one of their email addressess.
It's kinda hard to avoid scammers these days the way people find ways to counter every resolution. The only way to really avoid being scammed is to go in person with a mechanic, and even then you can still be gotten. Just know if a deal sounds too good to be true, IT IS, not probably is, but is. Also, generally most unprofessional scammers are pushy trying to get you to buy or try to make you feel like they have other buyers waiting so it'd be your lost, etc.
Patience is your best friend when dealing with any sale. Think to yourself that anytime someone is rushing to get rid of something, it's typically for a reason, and unless they have proof that someone died in it that was loved and family, and have tears in their eyes claiming they want to get rid of it because of the bad memories it keeps bringing back, then chances are you don't want the vehicle so pass it on.

Do not deal with this Scumbag, Scammer - Ed Graff, Owner of
MercedesWerks in Wisconsin. This guy has ripped-off many,
many, Mercedes owners. The local Wisconsin Police, BBB, and
Dept. of Consumer Affairs are watching him - if he's even still
in Business. He also sells on EBay.
I had this scammer write me on my 1968 Chevy Caprice. he wanted to send me $5,000 and I only asked for $3,500 in my ad. I told him to send the check, once I cash it and it clears, I would send the remainder of the money to his 3rd party somewhere in Bangledesh...lol...needless to say, he didn't like that deal and stop responding.
how stupid do they think a person is to send their car FIRST and wait on some money?
