I had managed to get the mtce records for my car from a MB dealer service dept. While it shows that the car was regularly serviced by prior owners, it always bugged me that there wasn't a record of the transmission fluid being changed at 39K miles. I bought it with the mileage in the mid-fifties and it now has 67K. Today I put it into a local independent shop specializing in MB's for its annual inspection and decided to also have them service both the transmission and the differential. I asked them to keep fluid samples and they were both quite dark, so I'm glad I had it done. I normally would do that myself, but no spare time at the moment and I wanted to get established with an indy just in case. There doesn't seem to be any reference to the differential in the Maintenance Booklet until 143K miles, but you may want to consider replacing its fluid earlier.
I have already done an ABC fluid flush and had the brake fluid changed, so I think that I will do the coolant early to get that out of the way.
