| 6 cylinders misfiring - SL600 V12
Hi
In the last few weeks I noticed the - Check Engine light - icon, appeared on the dashboard. The car is sluggish as you hold the pedal down to over 60mph. As you slow down in traffic or junction, the car is still sluggish and it feels like it is in 4th gear. All is resolved when you stop & restart the engine.
Last week, Mercedes-Benz did a full diagnostics check and came out with this: P20F3 N92/2 (ECI ignition module, left bank of cylinders (P0300)
P20E7 N92/1 (ECI ignition module, right bank of cylinders (P0300)
P2050 Misfiring, Damages TWC (P0300)
P2052 Misfiring of cylinder 5,damages TWC (P0305)
P2054 Misfiring of cylinder 6 misfire, damages TWC (P0306)
P2056 Misfiring of cylinder 4, damages TWC (P0304)
P205C Misfiring of cylinder 10, damages TWC (P0310)
P205A Misfiring of cylinder 12, damages TWC (P0312)
P2058 Misfiring of cylinder 11, damages TWC (P0311)
I have 6 cylinders misfiring (3 are located in the left side of Ignition Coil, and 3 from the right side of the Ignition Coil Kit)
Mercedes have advised I need 2 x Ignition Coil Kits (plus 24 x spark plugs) which will cost £1300 in total. Im not very sure whether replacing the Ignition Coils will resolve it?
What is the likely chance for the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor to be faulty which may cause the misfire happening?
My symptons currently are:
*Lack of Power & Torque after flooring the car over 60mph
*When slowly car feels in gear & vibrates lightly when stationary.
*More smoke out of the exhaust pipe.
*Fuel comsumption higher than it used to be?
Many thanks.
