I just bought a SL550 and want to put custom wheels on it. I am looking at Maya MRK's and the Lowenhart LT5's and they both said I could go to 20's however the mercedes parts dept only recommends 19's. I don't want the wheels to be the main focus of the car I just want to class it up alittle. What do you all think, any advice is appreciated!!!

It depends if your car is in factory warranty. For example, dealership A installed a Sirius radio in my car with a hidden antenna. Dealership B will not touch my Sirius radio under factory warranty. But dealership A will touch my Sirius radio under factory warranty.
I have seen some SL with 20” rims, but you need to ask your dealership will some parts of the factory warranty be voided like around the wheels. Some states are not as good as California in consumer protection, so be careful in any mod to your car.
