Free, Tappable 12V Wire?

Does anyone know where I could find a 12V wire that I could tap to run portable electronics such as a radar detector, etc...? Fuse box? Overhead console?

no overhead console... use either the front fuse box under the hood or the cigarette plug in the center console. both have 12v switched power.

I ran an RJ45 cable from the cigarette lighter area (where I could plug into the Valentine One adapter) under the floor mat, up the A pillar, and over to the visor. It's not as elegant as a true hard-wired installation...but it suffices.
