I know it's kinda tacky, but I'm considering getting a "bra" like I've seen a few times in the States.
We do drive a little faster over here - I thought it would be nice to protect the paintjob on the Autbahns - so here's the question: where can I get one? Mail-Order will do, or a store in NYC, as I'm there in two weeks time.
If you hate the idea for reasons other than style/taste, let me know why
If you are talking a leather looking BRA with a soft fuzzy liner,DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After a few thousand miles the paint under the BRA will be FILLED with fine scratchs, and if you dont remove it often and clean under it, before long you'll be painting the nose of the car!!!! The ONLY way to protect the car without damage {IMHO} is with a 3M style CLEAR PLASTIC BRA!!! I have one on my work truck {3yrs old} and it still looks great!!!! And no one can see it till you get real close to the truck.

Hmm, that I wouldn't do - I'd just put it on to blast down the Autobahn (home to the office is around 450 mls)

You've got me interested - could you help out with a link - or does this need professional installation?
It MUST be done by a PRO. I tryed it, and like trying to install window tint for the first time, it is almost impossible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It also, is NOT CHEAP!!! The front of my truck was $125 just for the hood. Hope this helps.

You can get the 3M Clear Bra kits from StickerCity.com in CA. or from a company called Xpel in Texas.
Xpel sells only the 3M product but Sticker City sells some made by Venture Shield. Their material is smoother and doesn't have the orange peel effect that the 3M does. Xpel's prices are much higher for the 3M than StickerCity. StickerCity sells Venture Shield as well as the 3M, there is a huge price difference between them!
The 3M is a bit stiffer and harder to work with too, but it may give you added protection. I have used the 3M on at least 7 vehicles and never had a problem with it, but now I am using the Venture Shield and like it every bit as much. I just put it on my SL500... hood, front fascia, headlights, grille, doors and I need to get a piece for the rear fascia too. You can't see it unless you are right on top of it.
Do NOT try to apply the film yourself or you will be very sorry, it's a job that takes experience and is best left to the experts.
