This may be a stupid question, but I've searched my 2003 SL500 manual and can find no instrutions on how to change the time manually.
It seems to be integrated with the GPS satellite time. I suppose the satellites' broadcast something like a universal Greenwich time and the car's GPS is then able to set the correct time by figuring out what time zone the car in, but obviously it doesn't understand the latest DST change.
Dragon, I did set the time manually. But if you noticed, prior to this year, it was unecessary to set anything at all, it was pure automatic and would switch for you. Was hoping MB could release a software fix which would bring it back to that. If anyone has info on this, let me know.
I know. I also hope there is a fix coming out. But until then, I'll just set it manually (four times a year). It's only a minor convenience I can live with.
You have two options. You can either have the clock sync with your Command Center/GPS, or manually set it which is what I suggest. You can set it through menu options on the steering wheel control buttons and set it at "no" when asked if you want it to sync with the system.
This is the only way I could get it to work also: uncheck "auto daylight savings adjustment", set to Mountain time (for us in Pacific Time) and set it back manually once we are back on PST. New firmward is needed for every release of the Command center.... not sure MB has the desire to make the fix. Thoughts?
