Why no SL63???

The 6.3 liter AMG motor is turning up in a lot of the newer models. But no hint of if/when it will turn up in the SL.

Anybody got any inside information on this?

Mark

How do you figure? the SL65 comes with a V12 bi-turbo that makes over 600HP with gobs of torque while the 6.3 are NA and make a tad over 500hp.

There are currently no supercharged/turbocharged 6.3's

Whether it's true or not I have no idea, but the owner of American Service Center in Arlington VA said the 6.2 is not a good fit for the current SL engine bay.

I know, I would have gotten the 63 if it were available! Ended up getting the 55.

Apparently Mercedes are to leave current and all future R230s with the Supercharged five and a half. They say it suits character of the car like that.
