Correct Tire Pressure For 2003 Sl500?

I own a 2003 sl500 from which I purchased used a year ago. The previous owner had just replaced the wheels and tires with michelin pilot sport 255/35ZR19, right before i bought the car. Does anyone know what the correct tire pressure should be for these tires, The owers manual say 26psi for the front tires and 29psi for the rear. But when i got the car the pilot sport tires all had 35psi.
Can anyone out there help me solve this problem, so i don't have to worry about driving around with the wrong tire pressure or let me know what is the right tire pressure for the 255/35ZR19 tires.
Thanks for any help,
Trippert

I have an 05 with 18" wheels. The doorjam also said 26/29. After talking to the dealer and comments from various posts to this site I have settled on 31/34 for the summer tires and 30/33 for the winter tires. Some people were fans of the same pressure all around but I think there were some discussions explaining that more pressure in the rear made the car safer. I am not sure how your 19" wheels impact the analysis. You might want to keep the rear at 35 and try lowering the front pressure to 32.

Thanks,
Unless I hear different, I'm putting 31psi on the front and 33psi on the rear.

We have an 07 SL550 with the sport package and the recommended tire pressure cold(taken from inside the gas lid) is 27 front and 29 rear cold it also states to add 4 pounds when hot.

I just had new tires put on mine (19" AMG wheels) and my TPMS reads 42 psi on all four. Is that to high?
