Wink SL550 In Germany, Austria and Switzerland

We picked up our SL550 in September and drove it through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Had great fun and loved the autobahn. Followed another SL550 for a while but let it leave me in the dust when he accelerated above 110 mph. Too bad I can't legally go so fast in Texas. The European delivery program was one of the best experiences we've had!

New owner on a 2003 sl500!

I am a beginner as this is my first mercedes-benz. I love the style of this car
and don't think i could be happier with anything else.

SL 550 arrives from Europe and gets Zaino Wax

We're happy to have the SL 550 back in Texas. I just tried using the Zaino polish system and it really brings out the shine. It is something like finishing fine wood furniture. The more coats I use, the more beatiful the car becomes. This paint is simply amazing and it seems to have many different colors in the blue/purple range that change appearance with the lighting conditions.

The day after I took these pictures, I added an additional coat of Zaino Z-5 and it now looks even better. When I have time, I may take more artistic photos with trees and scenery reflecting in the very deep shine. It's been kind of therapeutic having a project that provides exercise on a warm spring day and I really like the results. If other readers would like to try Zaino wax they can learn about it here:
Zaino Store. The owner, Sal Zaino, even sent me two e-mail messages answering my questions about the system and dealing with rock chips on the bumper. I highly recommend Zaino!

I finished Zaino Polish treatment and it's amazing!

I finished using the Zaino Polish system with 3 coats of Z5 followed by two coats of Z2. This shine is truly amazing!

All this waxing was a pretty good workout and its the sort of thing I would only do for a car I love. It was hard work but worth it. I tried to take photos that show the wet look and high reflectivity of this finish. This system is clearly better than the Mercedes Wax I previously used on my CLK and it is much better than the "paint protection" that the dealer applied when the car arrived back in the US. My hat is off to Mr. Sal Zaino!

I still have the 2007 SL 550 standard wheels in my garage. I had originally ordered this car with Alphard 5-Hole Wheels but they couldn't be supplied at the time of the delivery in Europe. I think these Alphard wheels complement the other design lines of the car better but I liked the standard wheels too. For the time being, I'm keeping the standard wheels in case I need them later.
