No, those are custom made...... from what I heard.....

I thought it nice too..... That why I post this pictures.....

Would LOVE to read the DYI write-up on those LED's.

( has anyone seen these anywhere?)

Does not look terribly complicated but any advice would
be appreciated from whoever did it. It appears that the LEDs were
used from the new S550 (as I see more and smaller LEDs vs. fewer and larger
LEDs that can be seen on new C-series or new SL). A HUGE help would be to know
where the owner sourced the black mesh....One of the options would be to
get the 'donor mesh from the large part that is under the license plate
and then have it cut and formed to fit the openings for R230 SL.

Hmmmm..........A bug has been planted in my head ;-)
This is a VERY cool mod and would look sharp if executed well.

Thanks for the PM SL_Brabus (as I suspected, S550 R221 2011-2012 LEDs are being used in the above car).
I purchased the LED lamps, Chrome holders and other essential plugs etc. - hope to have the
project wrapped up in a week or so. Will post 'actual' pics in this gallery once finished !

Here is a rough Photoshop sketch of what is taking place.

"After": (please note that I just 'borrowed/pasted' the LEDs from the image of 2013 SL550
that have 4 LEDs each. I am using LEDs from 2012 S550 that are a little thinner and have 7 LEDs.
