SLK which one?

Hello,

Im going test driving a few different versions of the SLK on Sunday

The 200 manual, 200 automatic and 250 petrol

The dealership doesnt have the 250 diesel which im leaning more towards with some of the reviews i have read. The only thing that concerns me with that is the noise of the diesel. We picked up my wifes new C220D sport line last weekend and the diesel is pretty noisy on that compared to my VW diesel so would the 250 especially when I have the roof down be over noisy

Id appreciate any feedback anybody could give on their models and how they have found them what they like/dont like would help make my decision easier

My only experience is with the 250CDI Sport that my cousin has (get mine next week) and i thought the engine was good. Yes it sounds like a diesel but thats because it is one all of the reviews i have seen say once the engine is warmed up the only thing that gives it away is the CDI badge.

For the extra MPG and the increased torque i cant wait for my CDI

It all depends on your expectations, in terms of driving experience.

A diesel is more frugal, but not as a dynamic as a gasoline engine.
Yet, modern engines are narrowing the gap.

Generally speaking, new MB diesels are quite sobre and not loud.
