I was wondering if someone could offer me some advice on my SLK 350 service.
I brought the car from my local MB dealer in November last year (54 plate) with only 14k miles on the clock.
I have added only 5k miles since i brought the car, the last service it had done was November 2007 so coming up to 2 years.. The service thingy on the car says another 7k miles till its next service which given i only do 6k a year would mean another year?
Im a bit of a worrier, so should i get the car serviced anyway maybe every year to be on the safe side or should i wait till the car tells me? - are there any pitfalls (other than expense) to getting the car serviced before the car tells you?
It is generally accepted that low mileage cars be serviced at least once a year. Thoroughly ignore anyone who says "it is harder on a vehicle or any of its components to service such-and-such sooner than required." For example, someone on the Benzworld forum tried to convince us that it is hard on the engine to perform oil changes sooner than the service indicator asked. What a doofus!
