I want to improve performance on my SLK350 without violating warranty so basically I can only upgrade maintenance items and replace my OEM parts with other OEM parts.
First and foremost I want to upgrade tires, these pilot primacies suck honestly. I am thinking Dunlap Direzza Z1 starspec tires to improve handling, braking & straight line acceleration. I have the 17" sport wheels and I am thinking about going 225/45/17 fronts, 255/40/17 rears.
Second, I also wanted to lower the car just a tad and I was thinking about getting #1 spring pads all the way around, does anyone know the stock spring pads that come on the car?
Third, going to swap out engine & differential oil with royal purple for a bit more power & fuel effciency.
Fourth, I keep hearing about this "Sport" airbox but I have yet to see any particular dyno evidense that it actually makes HP. does anyone have side by side pics of the difference between the two and how much power does this mod actually make? If I have sport package on my car does that mean I already have the sport airbox or is this sport airbox a special MB part that never came on the cars originally? (theres very little on this, yes I searched).
Brake pads, thinking about axxis ultimas or something similar. Again I want to keep the car stock for warranty reasons, or as close to stock as possible so any good tips would be appreciated.
to 1: Dunlop is very uncomfortable, on 17´´ I prefer Pirelli, with 255 you´ll drive balloons
to 2: there should be #1 pads, but the workers in Bremen do what they like
to 4: sport package includes the sportfilter box
