Leather seat wear

My july 2005 SLK 350 has red leather seats. The problem is the side of the driver's seat back is becoming very scuffed and almost starting to crack.
It's obviously caused by me getting in and out but I've never had this problem with any other car. The mileage is just under 25K and the rest of the car is immaculate.
Any suggestions on how to cure this, or is this something my MB dealer should sort out while it's still under warranty?

Not sure that there is anything that can be done under warranty, but it's worth checking with the dealer. My experience with leather seats is that the area you mention is the one place that gets the most wear. As a result, it's always a good idea to regularly use a good leather conditioner to avoid having the leather become brittle and crack.

Check the Benzworld Detailing forum and you'll find a lot of chat on leather protection techniques and products. Just search for "leather".

Is red leather more typically prone to wear/color issues?

I have the red/black leather in mine and noticed a slight wear/cracking a little while back. Since then regular doses of Gliptone have worked a treat! Order some Gliptone Liquid Leather Conditioner from these guys:
Elite Car Care
Good pricing and super quick delivery.

Added bonus using this: makes the car smell wonderful!
