Lubricating Seals on Hardtop

Good Morning,

I was told from the dealer that it is now time to lubricate the seals on my hardtop since it has been creaking pretty badly on rough road. My SLK is 3.5 years old and has never been done.

How do I keep the hardtop in the midway position to give me enough time to perform this without having it closed on me? The manual stated that it will stay that way for 7 minutes with the engine running.

Thank you!
