(Center) 3rd Brake Light Flasher

I'm not sure how many of you have been following my developement of the 3rd Brake light flasher on SLKWORLD.COM but i figured i would share the info here as well.

This is a new module i will be selling in the close future that will pulse/flash your center (3rd brake light) 3 times then either go steady on, or repeat the cycle in 6 sec.

There have been quite a few studies done on this in the past, and most have come to the conclusion that a flashing brake (or tapping your breaks a few times) will give drivers behind you more warning then just a steady on break light.

Connections will be very easy and install time should only take 20min at most. No cutting of any wires, and completely removable.

Here is the link with more info:

http://www.slkworld.com/general-modi...flasher-5.html

And i think we'll be calling it the "Kleyman Module"

Have you checked the legality of this. I think this would contravene the construction and use act here in the UK.

Perhaps you are correct. I admit i did not yet have a chance to look into it.

However we came up with a solution of having a bypass switch where the module can be simply turned off. then all is back to normal. No problems at the dealer, no problems if you ever get stopped. Flip the switch and no module, no flashing.

Tune into the forum link above for the latest on the subject.

No front license plate, clear sidemarkers, tint, loud exhaust, lowering, radar detectors are all illegal in most states but that doesn't stop anyone from doing it. I say go ahead and do it NG4L, there's should be some demand for it.

I have an interest in having a safe vehicle but the blinking third brake light is cheesy in my opinion. There is a local Honda dealer that does that. It looks bad.

GernBlansten, Sure i've seen a honda here and there with a blinky light. But never the 3rd break light... Either way, to each his own.

Personally i've been trying to see for myself if people behind me brake any differently when they see me tapping the breaks. And though i don't have 1000 random tests, from the few times i tried it, it appeared that people layed off my tail.

Your personal choice ...

Strictly optional, you decide. I like the concept and think it will add to the visibility and function of the standard off/on third brake light. I want it.

I suppose I can't fault anyone trying to keep from getting hit by the morons on the road.

Correct me if I'm wrong... Isn't MB testing the flashing lights with some of their vehicles? I thought I read that somewhere. IIRC, the lights would simply illuminate under normal braking. Under hard braking, the lights would instead flash. Sounds like a good thing.
