This is my first MB and convertible car. I have owned Range Rovers and BMWs for the last 15 years. Although I was somewhat aprehensive about purchasing what I perceived as a used tiny car (2005 model), I simply LOVE IT. The car has become my everyday car now. It's such a joy to drive. I'm alredy preparing my order to purchase a SLK 55.
I purchased this car in Panama from somebody that spent a very short time here and had to transfer back to Europe. The car has all the extras but the homelink and the foldable mirrors. My question is simple... I have kept all my cars in great condition because I changed the oil and filters often. My SLK indicates Service B in 5500 Km, much more than I will probably drive in 6 months, and more than my liking for city driving.
What is your recommendation regarding oil / filters change? follow the service computer indications or more often if only doing city driving?
Congratulations Charlie B!
This was also my first convertible and it is pretty much 2-cars-in-one. I tend to go for more frequent oil change specially with stop-and-go city driving. I tend to change the oil and filter every 5000 miles/8000km. Mb recommends every 12000miles or so or once a year if the mileage per annum is low.
