The new 'paddle' shifters on the 2006 SLK

I took this at the Geneva auto show.

Not exactly the way I imagined paddles to look. Just seem to be a bigger button. They look like something that could easily be retrofitted for those with the old buttons.

Hey mcat, when are you getting your car?

I already mentioned having seen the paddles in my thread http://www.mbnz.org/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=1252654&posts=11&fid=27 but alas, I did not have a picture like yours [:(]

I think this should clear things up for people =)

You had paddle shifters put on your SLK 55? Where did you get them and who installed then? Are they steering or column mounted?[?]

I asked my local dealer and they did not know anything about them for the new slk's although they say the new sl's are now comign through with the paddle shifters fitted on the buttons and they reckonned they should be able to fit them to the existing cars

Is this what you have CMiYC? Could you post some pictures? Inquiring minds won't to know.
