My dealer is pushing this sealer product for $895. He states in an email, "The Perma-Plate is a paintgaurd that seals the cars exterior. New car shine is guaranteed for 5 years. You are protected from Ultra violet rays, salt, bird droppings, acid rain, and tree sap. You never have to wax your car and it is stronger than wax. It is a fantastic product and when a car that has been treated comes in trade you can see the difference."
Anyone heard of or had experience with Perma-Plate Paintguard? Any opinions as to its value for the price charged?
I see from the threads you attached that the consensus of opinion is the paintguard products are a waste of money. Based on the advice of the forum members, I'll pass on the purchase
But would mind explaining why they are "snake oil"? Do these products not perform as advertised? Do they require significant maintenance/upkeep? Is the warranty not honored?
Or not. I got VentureShield a few months ago, and it is peeling up in a couple of spots for no discernable reason. Looks like crap. Fixing it would cost more than just repainting the bumper.
sorry to hear that. it is guaranteed not to peel. get with your installer. read my installer's comments on peeling and his guarantee in the thread if you haven't already. Did you contact your installer? Do you have your guarantee in writing?
you say, Fixing it would cost more than just repainting the bumper? but you have a guarantee!! should not cost you a cent! Did you not get a written guarantee?
Get your money's worth! I am completely satisfied!
