Don't know where I read it ... but in a previous thread someone mentioned that their rear view mirrors automattically folded back when the ignition key was taken out of the car.
Is this an option I'm unaware of? How do you get the car to do that, if it is an option?

Yes, manually in the US. In Europe it is a power option.

Really? In Canada, they don't fold at all. That's what my service technician told me, anyway... On the other hand, we have the one-light parking setting (for narrow-street parking) which is virtually useless here. Go figure!

Sure they will. Just go push on them. You can see the joint lines in this picture.

I read that in a thread a few months ago and I tried pushing on them but to no avail. When I told the service tech about it he said that they were secured so they will not fold back. I must admit I was just curious about this feature. I don't really need it. But thanks! BTW, I love Firemist Red. We don't have this colour here yet.

Zut, they really do fold. Both forward and backward. I do it everytime I wash/dry the car.
All my mirrors in all my newer cars (last 10 years) folded: American, Japanese, German, Korean.
Look at cars on car transports on your highway, you will see the mirrors folded in.

I have to lock my car; then the mirrors close by themselves.
