For now, I am going to use the Aux port in the glovebox for iPod, however would like to power it from power port vs use its battery.
Is there any ideal space on the glovebox to have the cord go in to minimize crushing the cord??
Or is there any EASY way to route a cord from the glovebox to below near the Aux power port?? (I see some small holes in the back of the glove box - no idea if any of these route out of the glove box below)
RE: Best way to route a cord into closed glovebox??
I have my 40G iPod plugged into the aux outlet, and,
for power, have it also plugged into the aux power
outlet in the passenger footwell area. The cords are
not concealed, however. I simply leave the glove box
open and set the iPod on top of the open glove box
door while driving. There is still plenty of room for
passengers who seem to like to play with the iPod anyway.

Merry Christmas all.
Leaving the glove box open while moving is a safty hazard for the passenger. There is an airbag right below the glove box door.

Does anyone know why that glove box door is so thick? I was wondering if the air bag was in that, but you say it is below the door. The thick door just seems to waste precious space.

The airbag itself is an explosive device. So it has to be mounted on something pretty sturdy. The knee bag is below the dash. Here is a picture of how it looks.

I routed the cord from the glove box & just closed the door... doesn't shut any different with or without the cord. So far the cord hasn't shown any "kinks"...

If you take the ashtray out there is lots of room in the back an than under the ashtray housing, than just run the aux wire from the clove box tru the back into the dashbord droppe down inthe back of the radio and brig tru the under the ashtray so you can plug the power what ever you want and hide the aux wire. under the shift part there is lots room where you can bringt any wire to the center armrest box.

I tried to take the ashtray out but it won't come out. I found the 2 screws under the round rubber cover on the left and under the lighter trim plate on the right. After removing the 2 screws the assembly is just loose but won't come out. What is holding it in? Do I just force it?

I had the same problem at first, make shure the 2 screw are complitly unscrued, i removed the part where shift is with the two swich are just slide a small thin screwdriver on yhe sides and lift up will come out very easy than pull the ashtray assembley out you will be surprice how much room there is under there should come out very easy but be carefull do not forse,
