any1 changed their door speakers on the HK system?

was wondering if any1 has changed the front door speaker on their HK system?

I think the HK system is 'fine'. BUT not as good as my systems in my other cars (which i had custom installs).

I was thinking that maybe (as i dont wanna touch the slk much) if i JUST change the front speakers in the door (which are basically the main speakers in a car) would it make a BIG difference?

They are peanut shaped and almost impossible to replace.

is it an equal peanut shape?
or is one part bigger than other?
know of any pics of them?

anyway.. how big is the general hole? will anything fit in that basic loaction?
What could be done is making a peanut shaped custom wood piece to fit in the peanut hole, then cutting a hole in that! then mounting a new speaker in it.
hmm.. just a thought.

I don't get it. It looks like aftermarket speakers would fit. The stock speakers look like any other speaker. It's just the mounting frame that looks unusual. Am I missing something?

Regardless of the sound system that is the shape of the door speaker.

without me taking my door apart i was wondering if the pics in the pdf were the HK speakers or just standed slk ones.

They look the same. They SOUND different.

u'd hope they SOUND different.
curious tho.. how do u know they look the same.
normally when two speakers from the same company are the same size, but they sound different.. they very very rareley ever look the same.
