Aftermarket phone systems

Has anyone gotten the Motorola bluetooth phone kit installed? I'm getting it to go with my Razr phone and was just wondering what some of you might have to say.

RE: Aftermarket phone systems

I got as far as mounting the Razr phone in my E500. I used the Brodit console mount. I got a Brodit mount for my SLK350 as well.

I purchased the IHF1000 and the HF850 Motorola car kits. I am planning to use the TeleAid speakers in the foot well on the E500. I am not sure where the TeleAid speakers are in the SLK350.

I will definitely post a how to thread, but, it may be awhile before I get to this project.

Thanks. I plan on proceeding with a professional install of the BT Moto kit soon and will post a review as well.

I installed the IH1000 in my 1999 W140. Used a Motorola 815 on the Verizon net. FANTASTIC! Will install one in my R171 as soon as it arrives stateside. Will post with pics and wiring - unless someone else does first.

RE: Aftermarket phone systems

Glad I paid for the factory install!

Looking fwd to the Blutooth upgrade as well. Then I can use the SimAccessProtocol and as soon as I am in the car and started, the car will take over and my Nokia will stop. Then when I switch off, the Nokia will be my phone again. Seamless. Nice and no wires.

RE: Aftermarket phone systems

The cords, cables, and over-all device imprint would drive me nuts. For me, distracts from the beauty of the interior.

Do passengers bump into the device?

Taking advantage of the teleaid/sound system for communication while concealing the phone itself seems the logical way to go.
