ALight, since i have both i am going to jump in and give me 2 cents. In the case of tires, all of you are somewhat correct with your replies. If you do not lower the car, the PS2 should be fine and won't rub on 19" wheels. If you do lower the car, you will have a higher chance of rubbing with PS2 tires. PS2 sidewalls are thicker than Falken/Toyo tires. In fact, i think they are the thickest i have seen. The sidewalls do matter because in the case of lowering with 19" wheels on our vehicle, because it really is that close to rubbing. I have 19" wheels, lowered with brabus springs, with PS2 tires, and i have recently rubbed when going high speeds on freeways as well as large dips. under normal driving conditions i do not rub at all. keep in mind, i have the most aggressive offset you can have for this vehicle. my recommendation for not rubbing with 19" wheels lowered- get correct offsets, do not got to the extreme on custom offsets, go with either falken/toyo tires, and get some shocks for the vehicle. The brabus springs are really soft and the car tends to "float" and not be as stiff as the normal sport suspension. Coilovers with shocks should be fine as well. Hope this helps...
Thanks EDSLK, I was kinda waiting for your reply as I recall you do have both (lower springs and PS2's). All the other ppl that has PS2's w/o rubbing I've noticed didn't have springs.
What about 19inch 235/265 with PS2 on the SLK55 would they rub~?? Thanks!
Without drop yes but a little rubbing, with drop, yes with little rubbing but as EDSLK stated above, with correct offset it might work. I've called several places and it's not recommended, they said if you are going to lower your car, get toyos or nitto's.
