I need to replace one of the fog lights on my '55, the glass broke. My understanding from earlier posts is that I must replace the entire unit, the glass is not available separately. Can anyone suggest a mail order source versus paying full price at my dealer? Apparently the dealer price is about $160. Thanks in advance for your help.
You could probably get one made at Tap Plastics (don't know if they are in New Jersey, but they are all over in Cali) for just a few bucks.
Could get it made out of polycarbonate, which it should have been made out of in the first place, so it won't break (don't know if polycarb can take the thermal load though).
Google mercedes parts.
Some online parts retailers will discount up to 20% off of list.
You may have to ask, though.
On a part like the fog lamp unit it may be difficult because they are often on backorder.
Luckily the install is straightforward.
