The wind stopper is easy to add, so should it really be in the list?
I don't have the folding side mirrors, but I could live without it. I have everything else out of the bunch (that I want), so I guess I might choose a different body color if I bought a new one [:)]

I got mine right off the dealers lot, so it came in silver.
If I could get one now, I might actually go for the slightly more blue'ish silver color, or maybe even the very bright blue one which is kinda like the Bahama/Linarite blue I had on my old SLK.
The poll really does not apply well to the US because of our package options and available options. However I ordered all options except phone and run flat tires.
I would have to say that I should have probably spent the extra $8,000 and ordered the SLK55.
Just $8000 extra for the 55??? In Switzerland, it is an extra chf 33,000 ($25,000). ie, not an option most can consider.
I really depends on the equipment. If you've seen the price/options list ( http://www.andre-chevalley.ch/pdf_mercedes/Prix_Classe_SLK.pdf ), you'll see that the 55 by default, comes with some 'extras' that would immediately add 10-15k chf to the price of a 350.
For example, as it stands, the difference between a 350 and 55 in Switzerland is quite a lot. But when you spec out both cars with identical goods, the 55 only ends up 15k more expensive... (of course, this is the case if you go with Designo leather for the 350, which is similar to the AMG's setup, but costs a lot of money on the non-AMG's to install).
Also, MB's in general are being sold much cheaper in the states because they have to. The currency rate between chf, euro and the dollar has changed so much in the past few years that nobody would buy the MB's had their price increased in accordance to this rate of growth...
This thread is interesting.
It was a reach for me just to get into the SLK55, but I had to go for it considering the performance boost over the 350.
On top of that, the options which I selected were/are absolutely essential to me.
Xenon, Premium Sound, Navigation - those things do cost more $$$.
However, in the long run, I am glad to pay for them as they definately enhance the driving experience and satisfaction level for me with the SLK.
Others may be just as pleased with less features/equipment/power and lucky for them because they have a lower cost than me. [;)]
