As you probably already know ..... we here at The Tire Rack pride ourselves on vehicle wheel and tire fitment knowledge but, in order to achieve that knowledge we measure ever vehicle for proper fitment and produce a 3D cad/cam drawing of each individual application. So, here's where I need help ..... through my normal channels I have not been able to get my hands on an SLK55 to take the proper measurements. What I need is somebody to drive their car to South Bend so, I can size it up ....... it will be worth your while is you would undertake the trip !
wow, if I had my car delivered, I would love to help out... Alas, I won't have my car for at least next 3-4 months. I wonder... how exclusive is 55 in US? How many delivered so far and how many are allocated to US per year?
I live in Rockford, Illinois and I would love to help also, especially since I'm getting the SLK 55 with the 030 AMG performance package. Unfortunately, I don't have my car yet and although I remain optimistic always, I probably won't get it until October. Keep me in mind though in case no one else can come through for you. [:)]
I am in Evanston (just North of Chicago) and have been to South Bend many times, so I know right where your facility is located. Can you give me a better idea what you are looking for in terms of a time investment? I assume a Sunday is out, but would a Saturday work for you?
Would this be a two hour process? A four hour process? More? What would the process entail? As you can imagine, although you will undoubtedly find folks willing to help, any of us considering assisting in this process would like to understand what "liberties" would be taken with our car as this process was carried out.

I'll second that - I got my winter wheels from Luke for my SLK350 Sport and did some measuring for him in order to get the right fit and he came through for me.
If you can't get anyone closer, I'd be willing to make a road trip out there - subject to better half's approval. [8)]
