wait time for SLK - Benzworld.org

I'm wondering how long others have waited/are waiting for a "built to order" SLK 350. I placed an order last week. At the time, the salesman told me to expect December delivery with a possibility of late November. I called today to see if they had a definite build date. He didn't seem to remember last week's conversation and told me January or February delivery.

I think I'm being jerked around and am wondering whether January or February delivery is typical for a car ordered in late August. I'm in the San Francisco area if that helps.

I know I'm from UK and car was a 200, but I ordered mine back in July 04 and am picking it up from Bremen on Monday [:D]

hi i am living in Greece and i placed my order in the mid July. The dealer told me that the car (SLK 350) will be delivered by the end of November. So if that helps I think the waiting time is not too much. And in this forum there are other members that wait over a whole year for their delivery. So enjoy the wait by coming in the forum and discussing everything about the SLK!!![:)]

I ordered mine on August 5. The dealer told me that I have a build date between October 1-10, with a delivery in late November or early December. I remember xJagman said that he ordered his exactly one week before mine and was given identical information on build/delivery. We're purchasing from two different dealers, so I'm assuming that the info is correct. [:I] I know. I know. It's not good to assume ANYTHING when it comes to these cars - especially delivery dates. [;)]

Okay, here we go again, I posted a reply but it disappeared[?]

Ordered my SLK on May 2nd, was told it'll be build in early July. Did Euro Delivery on July 25th, dropped it off in Munich on July 28th. Arrived at my dealer on August 31st. Was told if I didn't do ED, it'll be early to mid August. I'm very impressed, it was extremely quick. [:D]

I ordered an SLK 55 in July, was told would be built end of November for delivery in the UK early December, so 4 and a bit months, fingers crossed.

What huge variations, must have something to do with models.

I ordered a 280 on the 6th July and I am told it should be built between the 10th and 20th September and I am expecting to collect from the factory on the 6th October. The delay from build to collection is down to the fact that I can't get time off till then.

I ordered mine on April 15th (this year) and it arrived at my dealership on August 16th. I picked it on August 23rd. I thought four months was a long wait but reading some of the posts on this forum, I feel very lucky after all. [:I]

Ordered mine in Sept. of '04 and drove it off the lot almost 3 months to the day. Got updates from the dealer every couple of weeks. I was very impressed. It also helps I'm sure to deal with the largest dealer in So Cal[8D][8D]
