If you just enter the zip code alone, it may assume that it's a GPS longitude/lattitude. You need to type in the city, state, USA and zip. That made it work for me.
Why dont you put country flags under the avatars, and when you click the flap it takes you to the members of the same country. It would be a cool modification...
